1986

For as long as I can remember I have had my eye on the FJ 60 Toyota Land Cruiser. So this is how the story goes, it was August 21st 2017. We were driving out to Colorado to visit my mom's side of the family and there it was parked next to my uncles house. (with a for sale sign in the window) I knew it was the one!! The price was a little high but with a little negotiation I was able to get him down low enough it was too good to be true. Now that it was mine, I had to figure out how to get it back to California, knowing there were multiple passes it would have to climb. After sitting in a field for 2 years,  the next step was putting it to a little test. I drove 99.4 miles up a gradual grade and unfortunately the temperature gage continued to rise. Once we got to my cousin's house the coolant started to spit out of the overflow box... I realized really quickly that I probably would have to leave it in Colorado till I had enough money to ship it out to California, but if there is a will there is a way. As I looked into shipping it, I talked to Jordan Novus Glass and he recommended the living legend himself José! (Rodriguez Auto Services) José went through all usual inspections and luckily it was nothing major (Just a frozen thermostat). The cruiser sounded like a champion, but the thought of it driving home still worried me. The following day I talked myself into the idea of driving it home and off we went up each pass. Long story short we made it home. Here's a glimpse of my story..

Poler Stuff Adventure #131

After a couple of weeks of planning one of the newer Poler adventures we hit the road to Mount Whitney. This has been one of my favorite places to camp as of recent for many reasons and one of them is because it's free! If you are a young photographer you know the struggle. There are a few must see spots when you are out here but every time I go I find a new spot that gets added to that list. After camping here for awhile we headed toward mammoth, not knowing there was a white out storm we would be traveling into. It all made for some awesome photos and I couldn't thank Poler enough for the awesome opportunity!

Island life

Was picked with a crew to go out to 'the big island' and shoot. Had a great time shooting with great people, made new friends and got see some new places I've never been to before. My favorite part about being on the island was seeing Rainbow Falls, if you ever get the chance....go! It felt like I was in a whole other world. Anyways enjoy a few of my captures from the trip.

A Day And Some..

These past few months have gone by faster than I could snap my fingers. Most likely because it might have been one of my favorite summers to date. Got to do a lot of camping and put a lot of miles on the road. There were a couple close calls and sleepless nights but they just made for better memories and stories. I think being out of service for a lot of the time not being reliant on the computer world helped my photography a lot. Being out there doing it is awesome! The people you meet along the way make the road life that much better.

Yosemite National Park

In such a busy world... Sometimes we forget to go and do what you love, whatever that is. For me it's getting lost somewhere and thats exactly what I got to do these last few days in one of my favorite places in California. This place is magic 24/7. Take some time to do what you love in the midst of all the chaos this world throws at you. Cheers to summer 16!

British Columbia

I just got home from one of the most amazing places I have ever been on this planet. Canada is next level, there is no other way to put it. From Jurassic Park look alike landscapes to the unreal snowboard town. Definetly won't forget this place & plan on getting back very soon.

Sixth Street Bridge

Here are some of the last pictures of the sixth street bridge that I got. One of LA's icons that has been featured in many different movies. The city just announced that the demolition has begun. Stoked to have been apart of it's time 1932-2016. Enjoy!

Instameet Huntington Beach

After planning with the city for months on strategic ways to make this instameet happen. It finally did & couldn't have been better! I love working with other creative minds and collaborating and thats just what we did. Thanks to 200+ that came out to support. Check out this overview of what went down. Thanks to @surfcityusa, @mainandpch, and @ltenney. Follow my instagram to stay tuned for future events. Enjoy

December in Colorado

Colorado is my second home! I've been going out there every year since I was a kid and each time I go back I find myself in awe. This year the snow was all time, couldn't have asked for a more epic week. Looking forward to going back!
